With Q3 came huge updates for peaq and the peaqosystem -- officially becoming the world’s largest and fastest-growing DePIN ecosystem. The peaqosystem ranks #1 for the number of DePINs building on the network, its Fortune 500 enterprise adoption, multichain Machine ID support, number of users, and number of machines.
From fighting noise pollution to collecting live traffic data, Q3 saw peaq step forth to the forefront of the DePIN and Economy of Things space.
And the best news is — this is only the beginning.
In this piece we'll be running through what went down in the peaqosystem in Q3 -- major accomplishments by existing peaqosystem members, as well as running through new prjects that joined the peaqosystem, and a couple of more general noteworthy updates.
Let's dive right in. Who joined the peaqosystem in Q3 2023?
You'll find more details hyperlinked in each update.
Brainstem is a decentralized platform that collects health data from wearable tech. The DePIN joined peaq with the mission to enable people to monetize their personal health data. Its decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) will promote wellness while returning data ownership back to the people collecting it.
In August, Brainstem integrated peaq-compatible wallets with its app, reaching its first milestone in the peaq Grant Program. Thanks to the newly-added support for Substrate-compatible wallets, people will be able to log in at the Brainstem app using wallets that support peaq, including polkadot.js, Talisman, and Subwallet. The code is available on Brainstem’s Github repository.
2blox, which is building a DePIN of AI-powered cameras for collecting anonymized traffic data, joined peaq to empower people to earn by selling valuable insights on the traffic in their locality. As part of the integration with peaq, the cameras in the 2blox DePIN will be outfitted with self-sovereign peaq IDs, and through a decentralized app (dApp), their owners can monetize the data they collect on the peaq network.
Kansi Solutions joined the peaqosystem to enable people to set up and earn from DePIN hardware without actually having to purchase it. This may include devices like electric vehicle chargers or smart cameras. By lowering the barrier to entry, Kansi empowers the community to grab the hardware they need for free and start earning.
Silencio joined the peaqosystem
Silencio joined the peaqosystem to help combat noise pollution through Web3 citizen science. The DePIN consists of more than 35,000 smartphones acting as noise pollution sensors. Noise pollution is a global issue that can cause long-lasting health problems, and Silencio hopes to soothe the sounds by providing researchers with vital analytics needed to eliminate pollution.
penomo is leveraging the peaq network to help businesses monetize lithium-ion batteries while offering Web3 investors the opportunity to earn rewards for energy preservation. Businesses will be able to tokenize real-world energy assets and offer a portion of future revenues to raise funds and sell carbon credits to other companies on-chain.
The NATIX community hit a massive milestone in July after mapping more than 1 million kilometers just 11 weeks after the network’s launch. Now, the community has collectively driven over 2.3 million kilometers using the Drive& app. The activity and growth has been astronomical, with over 28.9 million registered in-app events.
Decentralized blockchain-based wireless broadband platform Airwaive boasts an impressive Q3. The beginning of July delivered the launch of Airwaive Visualize, an AI-powered viewport that enables users to access visually enhanced information through natural language searches. Since then, Visualize has integrated with OpenAI to seamlessly find and analyze sites, and the product is also now available as a widget that can be placed on any third-party website.
Additionally, Airwaive has added over 30 million publicly known cell sites to its maps to analyze global cellular coverage.
Wicrypt finished Q3 with several new updates and features to its DePIN of Web3-powered WiFi hotspots.
Menthol Protocol pushed into the traditional finance sector with regenerative finance solutions, catering to both Web3 and non-Web3 B2B2C clients. Additionally, Menthol was selected as a finalist by Landesbank Baden-Württemberg (LBBW) through the Epika Innovation program. With over 99 applicants, this achievement is a testament to Menthol’s efforts to bridge Web3 solutions with traditional finance.
Other updates include:
Growth has been the focus for cross-chain Web3 analytics platform DappLooker.
2blox just recently joined the peaqosystem, and the progress has been massive. Since teaming up with peaq, 2blox has released a Launch & Development CrowdQuest with nearly 8000 subscribers in 117 countries. New features are being added on a bi-weekly basis.
Other updates include:
It’s no secret: peaq is one of the most prominent layer-1s out there when it comes to all things mobility. In June, peaq announced the integration with ELOOP which connected 100 Teslas to the peaq network. The new DePIN introduces the ability to drive a Tesla via a Web3 car-sharing app on peaq and earn money.
At IAA MOBILITY, peaq confirmed its leading position in the sector as it powered a live demo of peer-to-peer charging and parking featuring Tesla and Jaguar cars. Working as part of Gaia-X moveID, a Bosch-led project building the future of mobility that also includes DENSO, Airbus, Continental, and a bevy of leading Web3 projects, peaq allowed visitors a chance to jump into either a Tesla or Jaguar, take a short drive, use the charger, and park the vehicle — all via blockchain.
‘Built on peaq’ is a video series focused on DePIN projects being developed in the peaqosystem. Episodes feature projects created by 2blox, Brainstem, bloXmove, and more. The ongoing series can be found on peaq’s YouTube channel.
