Staex adds peaq IDs and Role-Based Access Control to its network

What is happening?

Staex has implemented peaq IDs and peaq access, the role-based access control Modular DePIN Function, as part of its integration with peaq.

Why is it important?

The implementation enables builders to leverage Staex as the secure IoT connectivity layer, making it easier for them to build on peaq.

What does it mean for the community?

Ultimately, this means more secure and reliable DePINs on peaq, giving you and every other Economy of Things enthusiast more confidence in the automated tomorrow.

Security and device management

As the peaqosystem grows, so will the number of devices connected to peaq. With new use cases popping up and new DePINs choosing peaq as their home, you will soon have a whole fleet of DePIN sensors and devices hooked up to the network. Amazing, right? By all means, yes. But if you’re a builder, connecting tens (if not hundreds) of thousands of devices from different manufacturers securely and efficiently to peaq and managing their data flows could prove challenging.

Staex is a zero-trust network that lets you securely connect your devices to peaq and quickly set up your network stack, including VPN for secure data exchange, DNS as the network’s address book, SSL for encryption, DNAT for redirecting incoming traffic, and port forwarding for directing traffic to specific devices or services. Staex’s goal is to streamline IoT device management, leveraging blockchain technology for enhanced security and efficiency.

After delivering a tool for indexing peaq IDs in their first DePIN Grant Program milestone, the Staex team has now integrated their Mesh Communications Component (StaexMCC) with peaq IDs. The project has also added Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) to their network. In a test demo, this enabled users to subscribe to a live data feed from a simulated sensor.

As part of their milestone, the team also developed a Command Line Interface (CLI), which enables builders to make use of these integrations.

DePIN Grant Program milestone 2 has been unlocked.

“We are excited to be working on a secure connectivity solution for builders and DePINs on peaq. By leveraging peaq’s Modular DePIN Functions, we are making the home of DePIN even more accessible to builders and making great strides toward our mission of revolutionizing IoT management in a secure and sustainable way.”
