It’s time for Web3 to Get Real

Now that peaq is live, DePINs (real-world apps) have a dedicated home which is being quickly equipped with all the tools they need to collectively power the Machine Economy. But real, tangible change — transforming the way humanity lives and functions on a day-to-day basis — takes large-scale adoption. Specifically, DePIN adoption.

In other words, people need to host the devices that provide DePIN services (supply-side adoption), and communities and companies need to use those services (demand-side adoption). As Web3’s largest ongoing token-incentivized campaign rewarding real people for setting up real devices and creating real value, Get Real is specifically designed to drive the global adoption of DePIN – and in turn, ignite the engine of the Machine Economy on peaq.

There is ~$100,000,000 worth of $PEAQ allocated for rewards, as tokens, hardware, limited-edition merch, and other surprises set aside for this campaign. Additionally, all campaign participants get customizable NFT peaqonauts that grow rarer as you complete quests.

With Get Real, you can get rewards for completing a wide range of quests. These quests, defined by peaq and the participating DePINs, are focused on creating real-world value. They will guide you on your journey, where you’ll get to participate in, use, and provide the necessary hardware for a variety of DePINs.

The 15 DePINs listed below will be part of Season 1. More will join in following seasons.

DATS: A DePIN for cybersecurity services that you can join by lending your spare computing power to help fight malicious actors.
DeNet: A DePIN set on changing the way we store data. Join by sharing the unused hard drive space of your devices.
Farmsent: A global network connecting farmers directly to wholesalers. Join by helping track farm produce on-chain.
Kaisar Network: A DePIN providing compute power to advanced AI. Join by installing a browser extension and turning your laptop or PC into a node.
MapMetrics: A decentralized navigation app that you can join by collecting navigation data while you drive around.
ReflexDAO: A community dedicated to advancing health research and innovation. Join by sharing anonymized health data from your wearable devices.
ROAM Network: A DePIN for optimizing and scaling global mobile networks. Join by providing anonymized real-time data on your signal quality from a smartphone app.
Silencio: The world’s largest noise level data map. Join by measuring local noise pollution via a smartphone app.
SkyX: A DePIN for crowdsourcing global weather data. Join by connecting a SkyX weather station and sharing local meteorological data.
Teneo: A DePIN revolutionizing how real-world data is utilized. Join by sharing your unused social media bandwidth via a browser extension.
XMAQUINA: A Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) for autonomous machines that you can now join and help shape the future of Physical AI.
YOM: A cloud gaming DePIN. Join by connecting your gaming rig and lending its computation power to stream games.

Get Real quests cover a wide range of activities across 14 industries. These include simple things like installing an app on your smartphone or downloading a browser extension and more specific tasks like crowdsourcing navigation data, connecting wearable devices, measuring local noise pollution, and more. The first 7 DePINs have launched their onchain quests as part of Get Real, with more joining them in the coming days and weeks.

More DePINs means more quests and more opportunities for you to get rewards for creating real-world value — all while diving deeper into the DePIN space, Web3’s realest sector.

peaq and DePIN token rewards

True adoption takes scale, and incentives are a great way to kickstart the process of achieving scale. peaq has allocated 5% of its initial token supply to the Get Real campaign. That’s a total of 210,000,000 $PEAQ (or approx. $100,000,000*).

On top of that, by joining DePINs and creating real-world value, you can also get rewards from those DePINs for your contributions. Get Real is a massive token-incentivized campaign to drive adoption of token-incentivized apps on peaq.

NFTs: Meet the peaqonauts [2424]

The first thing you do when starting your Get Real journey is choose your peaqonaut [2424] NFT. Meticulously designed by the people behind the latest rebranding of Call of Duty, this unique collection is the first to feature customizable NFTs that can be made increasingly rare by their owners by completing quests and unlocking new gear and worlds.

The peaqonauts are set in the year 2424 — 400 years from now — when humans have taken peaq’s Machine Economy interplanetary. Humans have evolved into four distinct factions on the four most habitable places in the Solar System — Earth, the Moon, Mars, and Jupiter’s Europa moon.

You get to choose between a peaqonaut from either of these four factions. Note: The characters don’t have any advantages or disadvantages as far as the campaign mechanics go, so pick whoever you resonate with the most:

Terrakyn — augmented humans on a regenerative future-planet-Earth [top right]
Palladian — resolute Moon settlers; the builders of Earth’s first outpost [bottom left]
Marrasi — nomadic Martian explorers terraforming Mars [bottom right]
YX-35 — robots with uploaded human consciousness on icy Europa [top left]

When you complete quests, you receive NFT points (NP), which bring you closer to milestone rewards. These rewards include various items you can customize your peaqonaut with. New armor suits, new powercores, new locations — all of that and more will make your peaqonaut more and more unique as you move along on your journey.

Additionally, there will be industry-specific NFT items, rewarded at the end of Season 1 based on your contributions, which will help customize your NFT even further. That is to say – the more real world value you create, the rarer your NFT. You can wear your peaqonaut as a token of how much you’ve done.

This unique system, Web3’s first, goes down to the very core of the philosophy behind Get Real: Taking Web3 tech and binding it with real-world impact and outcomes.

There are other inspirations behind the collection — you’ll certainly recognize some when you take a closer look at the four factions you’ll get to choose from when signing up for the campaign. The collection is replete with lore, which builds up on the themes from some of the most well-known sci-fi works and universes out there.

Seasonal rewards

The campaign will run in month-long seasons, with Season 1 being the exception to the rule as it begins on February 5th. There will be at least 12 seasons of Get Real. The reward pool for each season will be announced ahead of the start of each season, Season 1 being the exception.

The reward pool for Season 1 stands at more than 18.8 million $PEAQ tokens for the general leaderboard, with smaller additional pools for referrals and DeFi. Rewards will be distributed when the season ends and allocations for the next seasons will be set dynamically.

By joining Get Real, you will have a chance to take part in all related campaigns that DePINs in the ecosystem will be running, allowing you the opportunity to collect additional rewards and tokens.

Important:

If you took part in the Get Real preseason, you need to create your peaq portal account with the same EVM wallet address you used on Galxe.
Make sure to use the same email address you used for your Get Real account when setting up your profile with DePINs on peaq to ensure traceability of your quests and progress.
If you already have an account with any of the participating DePINs, please make sure to use the same email address when setting up your campaign account on peaq portal.

To begin, head on over to peaq portal and create your account. You’ll be prompted to mint your peaqonaut [2424] NFT.

Once your account is set up and your NFT created, you can start choosing quests to earn experience (XP) and NFT points (NP). The former define your ranking on the main Get Real Leaderboard, which impacts your eligibility for rewards, while the latter are used to unlock new gear for your NFT.

The more value you create, the more unique your NFT becomes. Only points earned in the ongoing season can be used to unlock its respective rewards.

Quests are open and ready to be undertaken, with XP and NP claiming set to go live soon.

*The reward pool for the campaign is 5% of PEAQ's initial total supply, or 210,000,000 PEAQ tokens. The USD 100,000,000 value estimate is based on PEAQ’s 2-month closing average for the period from December 1, 2024, to January 31, 2025, CoinGecko. The estimate is approximate, as the price of PEAQ tokens is dependent on fluctuations in the market which cannot be controlled by the project. Between 1.5% and 3% of the campaign’s reward pool will be used for non-PEAQ token rewards, including hardware and / or merchandise.
